Still Room For Humans. For A While Anyway.
Last week we hosted a webinar on the three kinds of investment research we now offer - fundamentals, technicals, quantitative - and how & when to use which method. This week we go deeper into using quantitative research. Specifically, on WEDNESDAY 1615 EASTERN, please join our live webinar when I’ll be walking through how to use our quantitative signal services to make investing and trading decisions.
We now offer a range of AI-driven quantitative signal services. They differ in which instruments they target - Bitcoin, the S&P500, growth sectors, bonds and so on - but in each case they provide a daily, machine-generated output.
Machines, as you know, think in 1s and 0s. (One day we may offer quantum services but that day is not today. I look forward to working out how to convert a dimensionless spin value into whether I should be buying Microsoft stock or not). In our most simple quant services - let’s say our Bitcoin signals service (here for independent investors and here for investment professionals) - each day the machine spits out a 1 or an 0. “1” when the machine believes Bitcoin is in a risk-on state; “0” when the machine believes Bitcoin is in a risk-off state.
But what does that actually mean and what, if you subscribe to such a service, should you be doing about it?
The answer to this is not as binary as you might think and requires some interpretation based on:
- Do you already own a position in the security under consideration?
- If so, do you have a large or a small allocation vs. your typical holding level?
- How is the rest of your portfolio performing - do you have excess or insufficient liquidity?
And so on.
So, please join me on this live webinar where we will be discussing how to use the machine in the quest to improve one’s own trading performance - and how to interpret the machine output within one’s overall portfolio management.
You can sign up and register below. The webinar is open to all to attend, for free, regardless of whether you currently subscribe to any of our signal services or not.
See you there!
