The US delegation to China this week looked less like a clash of imperial powers and more like a commercial co-operation exercise. If true that is likely beneficial for markets; and if true it does not negate the longer-term work at hand in the US to re-shore as much critical industrial output as possible. Both things can be true, just the timelines different.
