Well, volumes will be light now as folks head for the Hamptons, both physical and metaphorical. For now it looks like the recent correction is done; all risk assets (metals, equities, bonds, crypto) are looking up not down, and the Vix has settled back into its slumber.
Whether this survives into next week depends on many things, some high falutin - your regular Fed and other Wall Street stuff - and some in the weeds, such as how many family feuds turn nasty in the biggest Hamptons houses this weekend. Grumpy bigs coming back to work on Monday, no good for markets. Happy bigs feeling warm about the future, good for markets. Sometimes it’s that simple. So if you see a Master of the Universe walking the dog this weekend, wave a friendly wave and wish them well. Consider it an act of public utility.
